Micro Finance
In the inception NIPDIT worked on issues relating to income generation of the poor families and later micro finance measures were introduced which deals directly for improving the economic stand of the focal population. Groups were identified & formed with micro planning for deciding the enterprises. Financial assistance was extended to the groups to start activities, developed skill & made them aware of market profile, market culture and market negotiation, business strategies, instilled through specific trainings.

Moreover, imparted vocational training under TRYSEM to take up micro enterprise and supportive services were extended by NIPDIT to resolve the financial crisis. Savings & credit activities were stressed for the women entrepreneurs. Economic development activities were adopted to check the exploitation by money lenders. Efforts were made to mobilize individual savings at family level. The families of lower income groups being motivated to save individually out of their increased income through various income generation activities

All kinds of economic and income generation activities were gradually introduced like opering of community shops fair price shops, vegetable marketing, raising nurseries, pisic-culture. They also involved in making of paper bags, food processing, community marketing, kitchen gardening, cooperative farming, knitting and weaving etc. Community funds, community shops and cooperative are created alongwith individual and community savings.

Gradually, the group grew up by strengthening their financial stand. Savings were encouraged to be utilized as working capital. The techniques of quality control and market potentialities were taken care of. In course of time the matured SHG groups were linked with financial institutions

About ASSK (ANCHALIKA SAMABAYA SADHAN KENDRA)
It has been observed over the year through out the country that small nucleolus of the poor people such as marginal and small farmers, rural artisans and SHGs of both women and men could achieve better bargaining power to access the resources, fight against atrocities on women and exercise their rights as guarantees by the constitution of India, when ever they have formed larger. Collectives of their own and block level federation also developed.

NIPDIT in the process of working with down trodden section of people in its operational areas also felt the need and started promoting such collectives in the form of Anchalika Samabya Sadhan Kendra( A Federation of SHGs) in its 5 operational areas. This institutions are not like a NGO but become a Self Help Cooperative society which provide guidance, leadership and linkages with financial institution for financial support to sustain their livelihood through micro finance approach.
